چکیده

Providing the appropriate access means for data mining services in Grid Environment is principal for combination of Grid and data mining. The transition from centralized data mining process as they are in traditional tools to Grid-compliant and Grid-based data mining services that can coordinate with each other is important to extract useful and potential knowledge/patterns from distributed data resources. But, data mining process has not been integrated with the current Grid architecture, and there are no related specifications or standards available within the Grid community for handling it. The work discusses the interface specification WS-DAI-DM and related issues of providing the consistent web service interfaces to mine meaningful and hidden information/patterns from distributed data resources in Grid environments. WS-DAI-DM can facilitate using data mining tools and developing data mining applications. The proposed specification idea is partially implemented in the feasibility study and we give an application scenario about how users can access data mining services in Grid environments conveniently via the proposed mechanism. Index Terms — WS-DAI-DM, data mining access service, Open Grid Service Architecture, data mining interface specification, OGSA-DAI WS-DAI-DM Figure 1. The function of WS-DAI-DM specification

Ontology Access Provisioning in Grid Environments

The increase of use of semantic technologies has reached almost every computer science related field, including the grid computing field . The next generation Grid should virtualise the notion of distribution in computation, storage, and communication over unlimited resources with well defined computational semantics. A Grid node may provide new services, functions or even new concepts that are...

An Outline of the Global Grid Forum Data Access and Integration Service Specifications

Grid computing concerns itself with building the infrastructure to facilitate the sharing of computational and data resources to enable collaboration within virtual organisations. The Global Grid Forum (GGF) provides a framework for users, developers and vendors to come together to develop standards to ensure interoperability between middleware from different service providers. Central to this ...

Distributed data mining in grid computing environments

The computing-intensive data mining for inherently Internet-wide distributed data, referred as Distributed Data Mining (DDM), calls for the support of a powerful Grid with an effective scheduling framework. DDM often shares the computing paradigm of local processing and global synthesizing. It involves every phase of Data Mining (DM) processes, which makes the workflow of DDM very complex and c...

Describing the Data Mining Process with DMSL

The state of the art in the domain of knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) and data mining (DM) has reached the point where the existence of various languages is becoming highly desirable. This paper presents an XML-based language called DMSL (Data Mining Specification Language). Its purpose is to provide the framework for platform-independent definition of the whole data mining process, and ...
